Your Past Selves.

funsizebytes:

I think I’d like to tell 7-years-ago-me: “It All Turns Out OK”

Come to think of it, that’s probably the message I would send Past Me at any point in the past.

Not to get all Richard Bach on everyone, but from time to time I actually do this and I’d encourage everyone to give it a try.

They’re all in there, our past selves, like rings of bark in a tree. We don’t grow by shedding who we are, but by building upon what’s already there.

Next time you’re feeling particularly good about your life, find within yourself a particularly angst ridden past version and let them know it gets better.

Don’t be surprised if you feel the relief ripple outward to present day you.

As Tom Robbins wrote in one of my favorite books, “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood”.
