Me (text to Amanda): Emerson insisted on wearing her new dress again today.
Amanda (text): girly girl :-)
Emerson: Was that a message for you?
Me: Yes, it was. It was from Mommy. She said you're a girly girl. Are you a girly girl?
Emerson (big smile): Yeah.

Apparently when I attempted to reverse it earlier, the “right” way was so ingrained that I couldn’t do it “wrong” even when I tried.
Bonus trivia: Both knots are considered square knots, the weak form being the granny knot and the strong form the reef knot.
